Yay! Finally got around to uploading the one and only cosplay I did in high school, the character Yuffie Kisaragi from the video game Final Fantasi VII, as portrayed in the movie "Advent Children."
Apologies for the really awful "green screen," but the only decent pictures of me were pictures featuring the entire crowd of ACEN 2012, photobombers, and really blahhh blackgrounds XD
The photo was originally taken on April 28, 2012, a month after I donated my hair. I was seventeen and weighed 92 pounds at 5' (Sort of close to Yuffie in the movie, aged eighteen and 5'2").
At first, I wanted to purchase the costume when it was half-off [here at [link], but it turned out really awful and inaccurate! The only redeeming parts were the jacket, belt, wrist accessories, and stockings.
For the rest of the costume, I used a black tank-top (full length for modesty ) beige shorts, white screen printing paper, and red and black ribbon. For the top, I drew the flower designs in Photoshop, printed and cut them out, and ironed them on. Using the remnants of the paper, I ironed on a border for the black ribbon/headband. The red ribbon was used (halved) for her arm and (whole) for the shuriken handles. The most complicating part was detaching the belt from the original pair of shorts, and just wearing it around the shorts I got. Oh, I couldn't go all out though No beautiful, white converse boots for this Yuffie... but I hope I did okay for my first cosplay!
Finally I got ENORMOUS help from my sister, ~Kiki02, in making Yuffie's shuriken. More on that [here!] Tell me what you think? ^^

If this is your first, I'm impressed. Very well done. Although next time i would have more fun with poses, you look a bit awkward like you know someone was photobombing you XD Just do what you think your character would do. it makes it more fun for you and the people taking the pictures.
Wow, thank you so much!! Haha I did want to do more in-character poses and scenes but I was definitely an awkward turtle in that crowded alley XD It was fun to do and I think I'd like to cosplay again )
this is lovely! very well done. i don't follow the final fantasy franchise, but from looking up pictures of yuffie, looks like you did really well in terms of accuracy. also, your link for making the shuriken is missing. but that's okay. 'cause you're just too adorable. :3
